Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department on Tuesday said light to moderate rain and thundershowers are likely to occur in Odisha till March 10.
Umashankar Das, Senior Scientist, IMD, Bhubaneswar said light rains may occur in Odisha in the coming days due to a Western Disturbance over the region.
“Rainfall may occur in many interior and coastal districts due to the western disturbance between March 7 and 10. There are possibilities of rainfall in interior Odisha from March 7 to 8 and in the interior and coastal Odisha between 9 and 10,” Das said.
The Meteorological Department further said that the city of Bhubaneswar may remain cloudy and there may be a drop of 2-3 degree Celsius in the temperature. Temperatures will return to normal ahead of this development.
In other parts of the country light to moderate rains are predicted.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), light to moderate rain and thundershowers are likely to occur over the next two days in many areas of Maharashtra including Mumbai.
“A trough caused the weather change at lower tropospheric levels that stretched from the south Konkan to central Chhattisgarh,” an IMD official said.
Mumbai and surrounding areas were lashed with rain and thunderstorm on Tuesday morning.
