Kamala Harris uses ‘Highland Park Parade Gun Battle’ as a weapon to Ban Gun in Chicago

United States: Speaking to a teachers union only a few miles from the Highland Park Fourth of July parade Gun Fire Incident, US Vice President Kamala Harris on Tuesday called on Congress to enact a new assault weapons prohibition.

“Yesterday should have been a day to join together with family and friends to celebrate our nation’s independence, but unfortunately, that community suffered a horrible tragedy,” Harris said in the opening statement of her speech.

At the National Education Association’s annual meeting in Chicago, she declared, “We need to stop this violence.

“And we need to safeguard our neighborhoods from the terror of gun violence. I’ve said it before, you know: enough is enough.

“Congress needs to have the braveness to act and renew the attack-guns ban,” she stated.

“An assault weapon is designed to kill a number of human beings — fast,” she said.

Raising her voice, she delivered: “There is no motive that we’ve got guns of conflict at the streets of America. We need affordable gun-protection legal guidelines.

Harris — whose speech become repeatedly interrupted through cheers from the target market inside the McCormick Convention Center — also said Congress had to “forestall protective these gun manufacturers with the liability protection.”

Earlier, Harris invoked the May 24 slaughter at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, announcing, “I suggest, right here we’re and our kingdom is still mourning the loss of these 19 toddlers and their teachers.”
