“It is being said they (BJP) broke away several MLAs. I received phone calls, people asked me if everything is alright. I’d like to bring a confidence motion in House to show people that not even one went away, that the BJP’s Operation Lotus became ‘Operation Keechad’ here,” Kejriwal said in his discourse in the House on Friday.

PDT Achary, previous secretary general of Lok Sabha on Friday, said typically a no-confidence motion is gotten the House by the opposition while the ruling party is considered to have lost the majority in the House. In any case, the ruling party can likewise get a confidence motion in the House, he said. “The government can bring a confidence motion in House anytime. Normally, a no-confidence motion is brought when the ruling party’s majority in the House is doubtful. Since the AAP has 62 out of the total 70 members in the House, it will easily establish its majority,” he said.

As per the rundown of business given by the assembly secretariat, “CM Arvind Kejriwal will move the accompanying Motion: This House expresses its trust in the Council of Ministers.”

After the chief minister proposed to get a motion of confidence, the sitting of the special session of the assembly was stretched out by a day on Friday. “Taking the feeling of the House, it was chosen to expand the sitting of the House and take up the motion on Monday, 29th August 2022,” as per a bulletin of business issued by the Vidhan Sabha.

Talking on a government goal moved by transport minister Kailash Gahlot to note “with deep concern the activities of some forces which are bent upon to create an environment which is not conducive to the ongoing good development works”, CM Kejriwal amped up AAP attacks on the BJP over recent raids at the home of his deputy Manish Sisodia, repeating his party’s allegation that the raids were part of a continuing effort to bring down the AAP government in Delhi and deter AAP from challenging the Gujarat assembly elections.

The meeting will start at 11 am on Monday.

Leader of the opposition in Delhi assembly Ramvir Singh Bidhuri said that the BJP MLAs are geared to look for Sisodia’s resignation over the excise scam. We will scrutinize the quiet of the government on the excise scam worth thousands of crores. CM Arvind Kejriwal and AAP leaders have been making baseless cases that the BJP is attempting to overturn their government. It is only a diversionary strategy to take the attention away from the excise scam,” said Bidhuri. The BJP leader likewise said that the BJP administrators will raise the issue of corruption in the development of new study halls in government schools.
