Russia claims that many Ukrainian POWs were Killed during an attack by Ukraine

Russian-supported separatists said Friday that a Ukrainian assault with US-provided missiles on a separatist eastern region hit a jail and killed 53 Ukrainian detainees of war who were caught in Mariupol. There was no quick affirmation of the attack from Ukraine.

The attack with HIMARS multiple rocket launchers on the jail in Olenivka, in the Russian-controlled Donetsk region, likewise harmed 75 Ukrainian POWs(Prisioner of War), said Russian Defense Ministry spokesperson Lt. Gen. Igor Konashenkov.

Talking before the most recent update from the separatists, he put the loss of life at 40.

Konashenkov portrayed the strike as a ridiculous incitement pointed toward discouraging Ukrainian soldiers from surrendering. He said that eight prison guards were too injured by the shelling.

The Ukrainian soldiers in Mariupol were taken prisoner after the furious battling for Ukraine’s Azov Sea port, where they had stayed at the Azovstal steel plant. Their obstruction has turned into an image of the Ukrainian battle against the Russian intrusion that began on Feb. 24.

The Azov Regiment and other Ukrainian units guarded the steel plant for almost three months, gripping its underground labyrinth of passages. More than 2,400 surrendered in May under tenacious Russian attacks from the land, sea and air.

Scores of Ukrainian troopers were brought to jail in Russian-controlled regions i.e. the Donetsk region, a breakaway region in eastern Ukraine that is controlled by Russian-upheld separatist authorities.

Some have gotten back to Ukraine as a feature of prisoner exchanges with Russia, however, families of others have no clue about whether their friends and family are alive, or on the other hand on the off chance that they will ever return home.
