Tihar Jail Administration said, Aftab’s Polygraph will be Done Tomorrow

New Delhi: The Tihar Jail authorities on Monday said that Aftab Poonawalla, accused of killing his live-in partner Shraddha Walker and chopping her into 35 pieces, will undergo a polygraph test tomorrow as well.

On Monday, Poonawala underwent a polygraph test at the Forensic Science Laboratory in Rohini, Delhi. He attended the first session of the test last Tuesday but fell ill a day later. Thereafter, Poonawalla was moved to subsequent sessions on Thursdays and Fridays.

He was arrested on November 12 wherein he allegedly told the police about how he killed his partner Shraddha Walkar on May 18 at their Chhattarpur apartment. He chopped her body into 35 pieces and then stored it in his fridge for close to three months before dumping them in places across South Delhi.

A police van carrying Aftab Poonawalla was attacked outside the Forensic Science Laboratory by sword-wielding men claiming to be from the Hindu Sena. In the video going viral on social media, the attackers are seen trying to enter the police van with swords. The Delhi Police detained the attackers from the spot.

Hindu Sena chief Vishnu Gupta said he had learned from police and media reports that the men who attacked the police van carrying Aftab Poonawalla were members of the organization. Gupta said, “They may be members of our group but what they did was their own/personal act and not that of the Hindu Sena.”

Delhi Police has recovered some weapons with which Poonawala had cut Shraddha’s body into 35 pieces. However, the investigators have not disclosed which weapons and from where they have been recovered.

The police have also recovered a ring that the accused had taken from Shraddha’s body and gifted to his new girlfriend, whom he had befriended through a dating app. The new female friend is a psychologist and is believed to have dated Aftab. Recently he was questioned by the Delhi Police.
