West Bengal Jobs Scam Case: Court Extended Judicial Custody of Ex-Minister

Kolkata: A Special CBI Court on Monday extended legal care of West Bengal former Education Minister Partha Chatterjee alongside ex-authorities for 14 days regarding the West Bengal School Service Commission (WBSSC) Scam.

The previous state education minister was created in the CBI court, Alipore regarding the West Bengal School Service Commission Scam. The court rejected the application for a virtual appearance of Partha Chatterjee and requested his actual presence today.

On Monday, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) recorded a charge sheet against 12 individuals including the former director of West Bengal Central School Service Commission (WBCSSC) Subiresh Bhattachary regarding the supposed illegal arrangement of assistant teachers.

As per CBI authorities, the agency, in its charge sheet likewise named a previous assistant secretary of the WBCSSC, an ex-consultant, two former program officials of the commission, and six others in the charge sheet submitted under the watchful eye of Alipore specially appointed judge.

The blamed in the charge sheet were recognized as Santi Prasad Sinha, Ashok Kr Saha, Kalyanmoy Ganguly, Parna Bose, Samarjit Acharya, Prasanna Kumar Roy, Pradip Singh, Jnui Das, Md Azad Ali Mirza, Imam Momin, and Rohit Kumar Jha.

Nonetheless, Sanjay Das Gupta, Counsel for Santi Prasad Sinha for the case contended for bail of the blamed mentioned in the CBI’s charge sheet before the Court. “The blamed created in the Court today following according to the pattern in which for actual appearance,” Sanjay Das told ANI.

Adding that the CBI in the Court underlined that the cross-examination of the accused mentioned in the charge sheet has been covered and further interrogation is forthcoming of other blamed people who are absent here.

“We argue that if the investigation of the accused mentioned in the charge sheet is covered, then why they should be under the agency’s custody?” Das told ANI. “The CBI is demonstrating a bigger scheme, that’s what we contended if it was a bigger conspiracy, what provoked you to present the charge sheet so briskly? You ought to have paused,” Das said further.

In the interim, Prosecuting the CBI for cunningly utilizing lacunae of the law, and presenting the charge sheet so right on time without finishing up the investigation, Sanjay Das says that they have presented the charge sheet so ahead of schedule without closing the inquiry so the accused stays in the slammer, without getting bail.

“The CBI told the Court that time of six months around will be needed to investigate 350 others in the case. But as the premier agency took more than 4 months and examined just 10 accused, we don’t think that the CBI will finish its deadline on time.” Sanjay Das told ANI.

Eminently, after hearing the two petitioners, the Special Court requested to extend the judicial custody of Partha Chatterjee alongside ex-authorities for 14 days regarding the West Bengal School Service Commission (WBSSC) Scam.
